Say YES to supporting nature-friendly farming.
Say YES to a healthy environment.
The UK Government has been asked by British Sugar to approve a banned, bee-harming neonicotinoid pesticide for use on sugar beet in 2024.
Ask the UK Farming Minister, Mark Spencer, to say no to British Sugar – and say YES to happy bees, help for farmers, healthy soils, and clear waters.
This is the fourth year in a row British Sugar has requested use of this toxic chemical, despite saying in 2019 that they would bring forward alternatives for farmers within three years. We fear British Sugar are putting short-term profit, ahead of long-term sustainability. Pushing for chemicals instead of support also discourages those farmers who want to move towards investing in alternatives.
This is a major threat to the UK’s bees, pollinators and other wildlife. Chemicals like these don’t just kill off aphids, they poison soils, rivers, streams and ponds.
But you can change the future for wildlife and for farmers today!
Ask the UK Farming Minister to say YES to happy bees, help for farmers, healthy soils, and clear waters.
