A well managed hedgerow provides food and shelter throughout the year for numerous animals. From the birds that eat the berries and nest in the branches, to the bees and butterflies that drink nectar from the flowers. They also act as wildlife corridors providing safe passage for many animals, including hedgehogs and other small mammals.
We aim to ‘gap up’ the mixed native hedge that we planted last year, further enhancing Middlesbrough’s newest nature reserve and providing a much-needed buffer for the site from the A66.
Contact Ian Wilson via email at [email protected] for more information. The best way to get to Middle Marsh is by foot from Margaret Street (TS3 6DR).
