26th October 2024, 10:00am – 2:00pm
Join us for a fun-filled day of practical conservation at one of Middlesbrough’s best kept secrets!
Bonny Grove Nature Reserve is a site of old wet pasture surrounded by woodland in the upper reaches of the Marton West Beck tributary. The neutral grasslands were once rich in wildflowers but are now in danger of being lost due to encroaching scrub. The broadleaved woodlands are species-rich and contain the odd veteran tree that provides a link to past land usage on the site.
During this task we will be brash bashing and raking off more meadow cuttings, we may also put up a few more bird boxes too.
